DUHALLOW face a tall order on facing up to CIT in the first round to County SHC first round in Mallow on next Tuesday night

Apart from a brief resurgence over the past decade, Duhallow's fortunes waned in this championship and defeats to Carrigdhoun, Imokilly and CIT confirm Duhallow have fallen back on lean times. As a divisional team, collective preparation have improved considerably under a willing management team of John Hartnett and Damien Crowley. Unavailability and the involvement of players with college teams will lessen Duhallow's hopes.

Still Duhallow present a formidable line up with Anthony Nash, Mark Ellis, William Murphy, Eamon Brosnan, Patrick Egan, Aidan O'Flynn, Denis Mannix and David Murphy amongst those on board. Opponents CIT can draw on a host of good players from clubs within and outside the county. Lorcan McLoughlin leads a team that contested the 2011 county final and the last four last season.

That consistency will see CIT enter Tuesday's showdown as warm favourites but no doubt, Duhallow will be committed from whatever side that takes the field. With two Duhallow teams on duty during the next week, domestic action is low key.

From the Ducon Cup, unbeaten Castlemagner face Newmarket, Millstreet host Dromtariffe, while Cullen search out for their third win on a home assignment against Boherbue.

Meanwhile Boherbue search for outright honours in the County Féile B Football Final on a meeting against Cill na Martra at Pairc Uí Rinn on Saturday.
