Springfield down Park

OVER the weekend, plenty of action was seen in league and cup ties. In the Mossie Linnane League Cup Final, Kinsale won 2-0 against Killumney Utd. In the second round if the County Cup, Springfield A took on Park Utd B away from home and Springfield won 2-0.

In the third round of the County Cup, Carrigtwohill Utd A beat Strand Utd 2-1 and Ballincollig got the better of Richmond in a game that also finished 21. In the City Challenge Cup quarter-final, Casement Celtic got the better of Central Rovers in a thrilling match that finished 3-2 to Casement.

In the Third Round of the Corinthians Cup, Leeside B drew 0-0 with Castle Celtic, which resulted on Castle winning 5-4 in penalties after extra time. De Courcey Albion took on Kilreen Celtic but Kilreen had a comfortable 20 victory.

In the Premier League, Blarney St Ath lost 1-0 to Leeside. In the same league, Grattan Utd took on Wilton Utd and Grattan won 2-0. Coachford produced a 2-1 win over Macroom and Park Utd A beat Knockavilla Celtic 31. In the Premier A League, Blackstone beat Glenthorn Celtic 3-1, Leeds lost to Pearse Celtic 4-2, Village Utd had a home fixture this weekend against Kanturk and, won 2-1 and Castleview drew 2-2 with Greenwood.

In the AUL 1, Buttevant beat St John Boscos 3-1. Postal Celtic drew 2-2 with Shandon Celtic and Fairview beat Knockraha 1-0. In the AUL 1A, Dunbar Celtic won 3-1 against Passage and Douglas Hall hammered Rathcoole Rovers 4-0.

In the AUL 2A, Waterloo and Killowen shared the points as the game finished 2-2.

In the AUL 2B, there was an incredible contest between Glanworth Utd and Springfield B that finished 4-4.

In the AUL 3, St John Boscos earned a 2-0 victory over Innishvilla and Carrigtwohill could only draw with Greenwood 1-1. In the AUL 3A Knocknaheeny Celtic recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Newmarket and Los Zarcos got a 2-1 win over Bweeng.
