IN the first leg of the Mallow Town and District cup competiton two weeks ago Molly's Bar were hosts to Bridge House while Moriarty's hosted their encounter with the Castle Inn.
Dave Owens was first to the oiche against William Jones with Owens taking an early lead for Moriarty's with a 2-0 win. Eddie O'Rourke and Michael O'Rourke continued the success for the Ballydaheen outfit, ousting Adrian Holmes and Ed Phelan before Chris Curran fell victim and the Castle Inn were in with a 2-0 victory in the form of Daithi Linehan.
Brian O'Keeffe increased the lead for the Mallow lads and Nick Sherman made the score 5-1 when he took out Mick Dunkea 2-0. However, Danny Butler slipped to a 2-1 defeat from Mick Madigan.
In the doubles Moriarty's didn't make a slip to finish the night 7-2 overall.
In a closer affair, Ciaran McKenna had a fine away win 2-1 over Peter Heslin of Molly's in Bweeng. Shane Holland continued the good fortune for the visitors with a 2-1 win over Timmy O'Sullivan. In the third match Valdi Gaida brought down Ger Breen 2-0 to make the overall score 2-1 in favour of the Mallow team. Stephen Connolly put Molly's closer with his 2-0 defeat of Paul France while Liam Sheehan made the score 3-2 for the Bridge House with his 2-1 victory of Barry Healy.
Willie O'Leary made it 3-3 when he did the business 2-1 over Richard Willis and Malcolm Stokes 2-0 defeat of Alan Foley put the home side 4-3 in front.
In the doubles Molly's hit back to end with a 5-4 win. The highest checkout of the week was Nicky Sherman with a nice 130.
The return legs will be played on tomorrow Friday, April 5.
