Loss of Agger would be huge blow to Rodgers

YOU can be sure that Brendan Rodgers would be delighted to have another £22m in his transfer budget this summer. You can be equally sure that he would be absolutely gutted if he lost Daniel Agger along the way to getting his hands on the cash - the Dane has been linked with a move to City.
Liverpool haven't exactly taken the football world by storm in their transfer dealings this summer – Borini has been signed from Roma and Joe Allen seems likely to sign from Swansea... after that? Nada. Nichts.
Alberto Aquilani, £20m Alberto Aquilani, has joined Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee (nothing close to the £20m paid for him we'd imagine) and Andy Carroll seems likely to stay for now so there's very little cash in the kitty for the Northern Irish man to spend.
That fact might lead a top quality footballer, such as Agger, to assess his options and decide that Liverpool aren't going to be challenging for titles or even the Champions League anytime soon. Hard to argue with that. The trouble for Rodgers is that if his top players leave it becomes ever more unlikely.
