Coachford 0 Millstreet Celtic 4
MILLSTREET moved to the top of the table with this emphatic win over Coachford on Saturday afternoon.
Celtic got off to a flyer and were ahead after just five minutes when a ball out of defence from Tim Kiely put Tadhg Collins clear on goal and he finished confidently. Millstreet kept the pressure up and forced a number of saves the work of Collins and Chris Cleary and it was Cleary who made it 20 after 25 minutes. Michael Murphy picked up the ball wide on the right and whipped it across to the waiting Cleary whose first time strike found the corner of the net.
Coachford asserted themselves on the game at t the start of the second period but as the half wore on Celtic again got on top as Cleary was again foiled but some brave goalkeeping. In the 60th minute a long ball upfield found Mick Collins and his header sent Murphy clear. The keeper advanced but Murphy kept a cool head and lifted it over him to make it 3-0. John Cullinane made it four in the 80th minute with a clinical finish after excellent work from Cleary to set him up and leave Coachford with no way back.
