Fermoy defeat wanderers

Fermoy's senior Soccer team are certainly making their presence felt in the Munster Senior League Div One, on Sunday last they won away to Cobh Wanderers on a scoreline of 1-3 to continue their good unbeaten run.

The Club's junior team lost at home to Knockavilla Celtic 2-4 in their FAI Cup clash. The Club's youth team are also doing very well and won again away to Glounthane by 2-6, Fermoy Rugby club had a quiet weekend their only action was with the U19 team who were defeated 188 away to Kanturk, In Pitch and Putt the last of the season's sponsored competitions was played off with young Conor Clancy winning the overall prize in the Wagon Bar sponsored 18 hole stroke play event, Declan Freeman took the Gross prize with Patrick Williams capturing the 1st net prize, In the ladies section the winner was Nicole Burke. On the GAA scene pride of place was reserved for the club's minor hurlers who met and defeated a fancied Ballincollig side at Riverstown on Saturday last, the final scoreline read Fermoy 2-15, Ballincollig 0-8. Fermoy are now in the Co Minor A HC final in which their opponents will be Newcestown who defeated Cuchalains Kanturk in the other semi-final also on Saturday last. The Fermoy club are expecting that this game will be played this coming weekend but for confirmation of time, date and venue check the weekend fixture list. Best of luck to Fermoy
