Buttevant U15s show no sign of rustiness

U15 SCHOOLBOYS LEAGUE Buttevant 4 Grenagh Utd 0 BEING idle for a number of weeks was not the best preparation for this league game, but Buttevant put any rustiness behind them with a good, hard working display against lowly Grenagh.

Without reaching any great heights, at times Buttevant displayed all the problems that lack of regular games can bring.

Two goals each from Gary O'Keeffe and Ian Ducey sealed the three points and keeps Buttevant's challenge for the league title on track, but on another day their squandering of good chances created could have cost them dearly.

Grenagh created almost as many scoring chances as Buttevant, particularly in the first half, and only for some last minute defending and an alert keeper Buttevant could have found ourselves in a far tighter game.

The final ball in good positions was all too often rushed and overshot its intended target.
