Away victory as soccer side get back on track

SOCCER: The weather was kinder to outdoor sports events last week end which saw Fermoy's soccer fortunes rise again following recent defeats, the senior team took the points on offer away to College Corinthians on a 0-1 scoreline, this was a very welcome victory for the Fermoy side as they seek to push their way up the league table, on the negative side however, the Junior team lost precious points in their home game v Mayfield Utd.

CUP DEFEAT FOR RUGBY TEAM

Fermoy's Junior Rugby team were at home to one of the strongest side's in the province when Old Crescent came to the Showground's to decide their first round clash in the Munster Junior Cup, at the finish it was tight enough but the honours went to the visitors on a scoreline 0-8pts. On the bright side was the fact that Fermoy lady who is a very prominent player with both Fermoy and Cork's AllIreland winning football team Ashling Hutchings was a member of the Munster ladies Rugby XV which defeated Leinster in the Inter-provincial c/ship on Sunday last. Well done to Ash.
