Young athletes fare well in cross country

Young Millstreet athletes enjoyed success at the Co. Cross Country Championships in Conna.

CONGRATULATIONS to Millstreet Athletic Club who came home with 13 medals at the County B cross country Championships at Conna last Sunday.

Donal Bourke ran a great race and finished 2nd in U11 and Emily Ring finished in spectacular style to take 3rd at U15.

Orla Buckley finished just short of the medals in 7th position U13 and Clara O'Keeffe came 8th U9 helping our Girls U9 team finished 3rd with the help of Holly Sheehan, Cathy Buckley and Muireann Cronin.

The Boys U11 came gathered bronze in the team event comprising Donal Bourke, Daniel Buckley, Patrick Kelleher, Eanna O'Mahony, Ian Buckley, James Buckley and Evan O'Sullivan.

Also representing Millstreet Athletic Club were Eabha Sheehan, Eimear and Orla O'Leary and Niamh Smyth, Orla Buckley, Caoimhe O'Leary, Dara O'Shea, Sarah Bourke, Shannon O'Sullivan, Abby Ring and Patrick Cronin.

Dan Bourke also competed in the Masters finishing in the top 15.

Daniel Carberry, Emma Moynihan, Aoife O'Connor, Finn Ramadam and Meabh Buckley also represented the club during the cross country season.

All their training has paid off with excellent results and all associated with Millstreet AC wish the young athletes the best of luck in the Munster Cross Country Championships over the coming weeks.
