IRELAND and Ulster rugby giant Tommy Bowe turned heads in Mallow last Saturday when he visited the town to promote his new range of shoes.
The star happily posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans during his hour-and-a-half visit to O'Flynn's Footwear at Bank Place.
Shop owner Corrie O'Flynn-Rea told The Corkman that Bowe visited the shop as part of a whistle-stop tour of Cork promoting his Lloyd & Pryce footwear.
"We were asked if we could accommodate Tommy. This is the kind of request that you don't turn down," said Corrie.
"He was a lovely, friendly guy and seemed to enjoy meeting people, posing for photos and signing everything from rugby balls to shirts to arms.
"The children were particularly delighted to get the chance to meet him and there were also a couple of blushing mothers in the queue," she laughed.
