TWO West Muskerry athletes competed in the Munster Indoor Championships and the All-Ireland Junior Indoor Championships last weekend.
Meabh O'Riordan competed in the U13 Munster Indoor Shot Championship. After she slipped on her first throw she steadied herself again but was out of the medals. Meabh gained a lot of experience from this competition as it was her first Indoor competition and was never used to the crowd being so close to the throwing area and also the fact that she was throwing from a wooden circle instead of concrete.
Garry O'Sullivan competed in the All-Ireland Junior Indoor 800m competition in Athlone. Garry who is only U17 has been improving with every race he runs.
Garry mistimed his first two laps but never gave in and crossed the line a little short of his PB in 2.08. Garry will be competing in the All-Ireland senior competition in Athlone next weekend and we wish him well. We also wish Gráinne Moynihan well in the same event, Gráinne runs in the 400m.
