B SINGLES will be played, both are timed for 7pm. At the time of writing the players involved are not know and venues depend on who win advance from the quarter-finals. On Saturday we have a three game programme in Mallow with a 7pm start which will commence with Junior B Singles Final John Casey, Ballydesmond v Ciaran Buckley, Mallow and will be followed by Junior A Singles Final, which is an all Liscarroll affair Shane Hedigan v Tom O'Neill.
The last game on that Mallow programme will be Over-35 A Singles Final Colm Jordan, Fermoy v Ger Healy, Liscarroll.
On Sunday in Mallow at 3pm we have Ruby Masters Singles Final Michael Jordan, Fermoy v Tony Buckley, Liscarroll. Its back to Mallow again on Sunday evening for Golden Masters A Singles Final meeting of John Herlihy, St Finbarrs v John Hedigan, Liscarroll.
Both semi-finals of Masters B Doubles will be played in Sunday evening in Mallow with Philip O'Carroll, Ballydesmond and Kevin Buckley, Mallow teaming up to take on Michael Linehan and Partner, Ballydesmond.
In the second game Fermoy pair Michael Jordan Jnr / Tony Jordan play Caoimhin O'Lionshigh / Donal O'Croinin, Ballyvourney. Liscarroll will be a busy place from December 27 to January 1 as both Munster U13 and U-15 Singles Tournaments are played off with an entry of over one hundred players each day is going to be very busy, the programme starts with U-15 Singles on Wednesday 27 and will continue on Thursday 28.
U-13 Singles start on December 29 and continues on December 30. Semi-finals and Finals will be played on Monday 31 and Tuesday, January 1. This tournament has gone from strength to strength and is now rated one of the best juvenile tournaments in the country, its open to players from all over Ireland but it's a big undertaking for any player to commit to so much time in the handball court, however that said its now the dream of all top juvenile to play in and hopefully win the Liscarroll Munster Open.
It's also a huge undertaking for the club to give so much time to organise and run off a programme that runs for six days without a break.
Liscarroll have also been very busy ruuning off the Joe Collins Memorial Masters tournament Section C for the past few week and it is now down to a final which will be played on January 2. In the semifinals CJ Fahy, Galbally defeated Noel Duggan, Broadford while in the second s/final Paddy Hennessy, Fermoy defeated Paul Kerins, Ballydesmond.
As this is our final weekly notes of 2012 I would like to thank the sports staff of
for their help and co-operation during 2012 and wish them and all those who follow our weekly handball news compliments of the season.
