OUT with the old and in with the new.

Well not quite yet. In an interesting development this year's Duhallow Under 20 Invitation Cup will be run under both the GAA's existing rules and under the new rules – the black card, etc. The old rules will continue to be used in any fixtures held before the new year, with the new rules coming into force from January 1.

"Demand for participation outstretched places available," John Fintan Daly (above), competition founder and co-ordinatory said at it's launch this week.

"And it's again an opportune time to go along with popular request to run the competition to Under 20 so that it will be exactly in line with the 2014 Under 21 Championships. The Cup start in the old playing rules and finishes on new rules incorporating the much documented Black Card Infractions."

The draw for the 2013/14 competition was also made at the launch with last season's runners up Clonakilty come up against debutants Kenmare District. Another top attraction is the meeting of St. Kierans and Douglas while Rathmore/Kilcummin face neighbours and hosts Duhallow.

Round 1 draw: Douglas v St. Kierans, Clonakilty v Kenmare District, East Kerry v Douglas, Rathmore/Kilcummin v Duhallow.
