Milford not troubled by Ballyclough

BALLYCLOUGH, who contested the Co JBHC (1) final a few weeks ago fielded just a skeleton of that side when they faced Milford in the Divisional JBHC(2) semi final at Ballyhea.

Milford 1-17 Ballyclough 0-10

The sides were level 0-1 and 0-2 each after 6 minutes. Milford had their goal by impressive Robbie Watson in the 8th minute and they led from there to the finish.

Milford gained supremecy at midfield and they took some very good scores. Ballyclough had points by Brian O'Neill and Tom O'Neill. Robbie Watson had two very good points for the winners in the 2lst and 24th minutes. Barry O'Leary struck a long range point for Ballyclough and was narrowly wide from another long range effort in the 28th minute. Tom O'Neill had two late points for Ballyclough that cut the lead to the minimum at the break 1-6 to 0-8.

Exchanges were again close on the resumption with Milford moving six points clear by the end of the third quarter 1-12 to 0-9. Good work by Niall Ducey led to a Tom O'Neill point that was Ballyclough's final score. Milford finished very strong having five points by Seamus O'Connor (2) Gearoid Sexton, Declan Sexton, and Robbie Watson to secure a place in the final against Ballygiblin, Churchtown or Kildorrery.
