Cavanagh's Fermoy Div 2 FL
LISCARROLL were always in control in their meeting with Kilworth in the Cavanagh's Fermoy Div 2 FL at Kilworth on Sunday.
From the offset the winners dominated in the key half backline sector that ensured their forwards were in regular supply. John Buckley got proceedings under way with a point before they struck for the first of their five goals in the ninth minute when a sideline by John Breen was broken down on the edge of the square by Sean Murphy with the rebound falling to Sean Egan who finished to the net from close range.
Moments later a pin point pass by Brian Quinn found Sean Murphy who set up the inrushing Darren Coleman for their second goal 2-2 to no score. Kilworth registered their first score at the end of the first quarter when Justin Aherne pointed a free, but it was all Liscarroll at this stage with John Buckley (3) and Brian Quinn having points while a third goal by John Breen helped the winners hold a 3-7 to 0-1 interval lead.
On the changeover despite Kilworth getting the first two scores by Justin Aherne and Liam Whelan there was no denying Liscarroll having two goals in quick succession at the mid way stage by Ronan Lehane and Kieran Curtin that set them on their way to back to back victories in the current league.
