Glanmire came into the game as strong favourites but the Newmarket girls played some excellent football and were ahead by the narrow margin of two points at the interval.

The second half continued to thrill the attendance with both sides battling for supremacy and ended in a draw at full time on the scoreline of Newmarket 3-6 to Glanmire 2-9.

Nail-biting extra time of ten minutes aside did not decide the outcome as both sides scored just one point to give a final score of 3-7 to 2-10. The girls had huge support and the replay, has not yet been fixed, is eagerly awaited.
