ON Thursday of this week we have a feast of football at Cloughduv under lights, with the finals of Division 1 and Division 2 in the Junior football leagues to be decided.

The Division 2 final will involve Blarney and Macroom and the latter are in very high spirits at the moment following the comprehensive semi-final championship victory of their Intermediate team over Valley Rovers on Saturday last. That huge boost to Macroom's football morale must rub off on their Junior team this evening so they should have the edge over Blarney.

In the Division 1 League Final the holders Kilmurry will be hoping to get back to their winning ways following their recent championship final defeat and they will be fancied to have the edge against Clondrohid. The former gave their best performance of the season when they defeated this evening's opponents in the semi-final of the championship but Clondrohid will be determined to make amends and we could witness a very competitive encounter.

Kilmurry's big guns like Kevin Barrett, James White, David O'Leary, William Buckley and Greg Barrett will be to the forefront of their quest for victory while Denis Desmond, James Kelleher, Paddy Lynch, Aidan Kelleher and Darren Dineen are likely to figure prominently for Clondrohid. On Wednesday next at Cloughduv once again Grenagh will be fancied to qualify for another Muskerry Junior Hurling Final when they take on Eire Og.

The latter, who will be represented by their second choice fifteen will probably find the going hard as the long run by their Intermediate team in the championship has seen a large amount of their hurlers participating in the top grade. Eire Og will certainly give it their best shot with the team that they have on duty but Grenagh must be fancied for a divisional final appearance against Donoughmore.
