Round four draws to the County Championships aroused the prospects of some exciting tussles over the coming weeks.

From the Premier Intermediate Football grade, Newmarket tackle fellow North Cork side Mallow.

From the opening round, Newmarket claimed a comfortable win over Kiskeam. Though Mallow incurred a loss to Grenagh, they recovered to get back on track following a qualifier win over Castletownbere.

At ordinary intermediate level, Kanturk jumped into round 4 by virtue of a replay win over bogey side Glanworh and they face another Avondhu side Fermoy, the latter enjoyed a comprehensive triumph first time out against Cloyne.

Meanwhile, Ballydesmond return to action following a loss to Kinsale but subsequent win over Cill na Martra to encounter Mayfield in round 4. The city side recovered from a first round loss to Rockchapel to better Glanworth.

Rockchapel can be pleased, evading round 4 to secure a quarter final clash against Kinsale.

At senior level, should Duhallow overcome Muskerry, they are pitted against St. Nicks in round 4.

Just one grade in hurling was drawn and it sees Meelin renew rivalry against Aghada in a quarter-final to the Intermediate grade. Last season, Meelin were forced to relent to a physically stronger East Cork outfit in round 1.
