MILLSTREET Celtic underlined their credentials to def eat De Courcey Albion 2-1 in Millstreet Town Park to a keenly fought County Cup tie.

Both sides took a time to settle but ever so slowly, Millstreet asserted themselves with Tadhg Collins close to breaking the deadlock.

De Courcey found new energy levels and Millstreet incurrred a major let off on failing to obtain any credit from a penalty struck wide.

That failed to deter the visitors from forcing a deserved lead. It brought a spirited response from Millstreet, good work by John Cullinane placed Tadgh Collins to equalise and deadlock at 1-1 apiece by the interval whistle.

Celtic carried that good form into the second half thouugh terririorial advantage failed to be translated into a score. But the relentless pressure paid off in thr 78 th min. Collins winning a penalty, expertly converted by Tim Kiely for the lead.

Indeed Collins might had another penalty before

De Courcey mounted a number of late assaults. Millstreet were thankful to a series of brillant saves from keeper Piotr Oziast to hold onto their narrow but all important advantage to advance into the next stage.
