Solicitor Dan O'Connor said numerous positive probation reports had been undertaken on his 22 year old client, Sean Donovan of 34 O'Callaghan Park, Kanturk.

Mr O'Connor said his client had previously appeared before Judge Michael Pattwell and Judge Olann Kelleher in relation to a single charge of unlawful possession of drugs and a single charge of posession of drugs for the purpose of sale or supply on March 15, 2010 at O'Callaghan Park, Kanturk.

Mr O'Connor said since that time a number of probation reports were undertaken on Mr Donovan, which were "very favourable."

"This is a success story. After the offence, he went on to third level education and did a certificate in psychology, for which he got a merit," said Mr O'Connor. Mr O'Connor said his client was "barely 18" at the time of the offence.

Judge Sheridan said: "This is a case where a clean sweep will be applied. The reports on him are very good and the notes in the report are equally good. He has now moved on with his life and he has plainly come out of the cul de sac."
