CHARLEVILLE-based Response Group, one of Ireland's leading environmental engineering services firms, has signed a major new electricity supply deal with leading independent energy provider Energia.
The deal is valued at €550,000 and will see Energia supply over 50 water treatment sites around Ireland that are operated by the Response Group.
The company specialises in the operation of municipal and industrial water and waste water treatment plants, as well as design, engineering and construction services.
The company's Head Office is based at the Ballysally Business Park, Railway Road, Charleville, Cork, with the sites under the company's management spread throughout the country.
Water treatment and pumping processes are heavy consumers of electricity therefore any reduction in useage and costs can have a significant influence.
Commenting on the deal, John Knowles, Finance Director, Response Engineering said: "This deal with Energia will be a big help as we look to control our cost base.
"Energia's offering was a great choice as it combines the most competitive energy offerings with first class customer service.
"They also have on offer a great range of energy management tools and energy advisory expertise."
Aidan Brennan, Key Account Manager, Energia commented: "While a large amount of our work is dealing with renewals from existing Energia customers, we are always delighted when businesses like Response Engineering switch to Energia."
"Added to our very attractive price package, we offer excellent customer service and with Energia Online, customers can also analyze and interrogate their energy consumption, discover usage patterns and produce reports. This information in turn can be used with another product, the Energia Bureau, to manage energy efficiency projects in the business."
Energia has a 28% market share of the business energy and gas market on an all–island basis with over 65,000 customers.
