Kathleen Donovan, a public health nurse has organised the 'Lourdes Invalid Fund' for many years and ses huge value in the trip for people who are ill.

She, along with a number of other dedicated volunteers, are just back from Lourdes where they took 105 pilgrims. Doctors and other medical professions also went to Lourdes for the week, so that the pilgrim received the very best of care.

"I believe it is very important to bring the sick and unwell to Lourdes. People have always been so kind. It gives the family of the ill person some respite, but it also gives the pilgrim a chance to see and enjoy Lourdes," she said.

The fashion show will be held at Springfort Hall on Thursday, October 3, and Kathleen, along with other volunteers, will be the models on the night.

Tickets for the novel fundraiser cost €10 and tickets will be available at the Springfort Hall café in Mallow from this month.
