LEADING broadband service Nova Broadband celebrated 10 years in business at their premises in Little Island last week, greeting new staff members and their No 1 status.
The Cork based business has developed from a small, one man show in 2004 to Munster's number 1 rated broadband service for the last four years in a row.
Speaking on the celebration night about their success over the past 10 years, Managing Director Dave McDonald explained how he saw a gap in the market and knew he could provide an excellent broadband service for the people of Cork, especially those in low density rural areas who were experiencing very poor broadband. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength, achieving record months every month and double-digit growth in the last three years.
"Nova Broadband was established 10 years ago as an alternative service provider," noted Mr McDonald. "Back then, broadband availability was poor - even some areas of the city couldn't get any broadband at all. Now, 10 years on, we are thriving and solving broadband problems for residential users right up to multinationals and are continuously growing at a rate we could not have predicted."
Nova has recently expanded into Limerick and Tipperary, requiring them to take on more staff. "We are constantly updating our service and making sure we stay at Number 1 on www.ratemyisp.ie and our success is mainly down to ongoing referrals and our constant aim to offer top class customer service," said McDonald.
"I am very proud of what we have built up so far and look forward to the next 10 years."
The 10th birthday celebration also marked the arrival of new staff members to the Nova Broadband team and as a result of their current expansion and ongoing success they are continuing to recruit in the areas of technical support, systems administration and customer service.
