The flooring has now been put in place and concreted over. Some landscaping work around the site must be carried and access ramps put in place before it can be opened. It is hoped that this work will be completed before the end of August.

The focus will then switch to the Castle Grounds as the Club prepares to proceed with the floodlighting of the pitch and the installation of a water-sprinkling system in the coming weeks.

Results & Fixtures: Result from Monday, 12 August - Muskerry JFL 4: Macroom Junior C's 1-12 Cill na Martra 0-09.

Upcoming fixtures: Saturday, 17 August - Macroom U10s travel to Dunmanway to play in a Rebel Óg East blitz.

Later that evening (at 7pm also in Dunmanway), Macroom Intermediates take on Castletownbere in the quarter-final of the Premier Intermediate Football Championship.

It is quite a while since Macroom reached a County Intermediate semi-final and so people are asked to turn out and support the lads and help get them over the line!

Congratulations to both Eoin and Seán and also to Tim O'Sullivan who is a selector. They will contest the All Ireland Final against Kildare on Saturday, 24 August at 6pm in the Gaelic Grounds.

All Ireland Hurling Final Tickets: Macroom GAA will be raffling off an All Ireland Hurling Final Weekend Package (Two Hogan Stand tickets and One Night's Accommodation in Dublin).

Tickets are €10 and can be purchased from Don Buckley in the Castle Hotel or any other GAA Committee Member. The draw will take place on Wednesday, 4th September.

Also anyone who wishes to request tickets for the All Ireland Hurling Final is asked to apply in writing to Secretary Pat O'Connell before 5pm on Friday, 30th August.
