Kanturk cyclists own the podium in Galway

Last Sunday, members of O'Leary Stone Kanturk Cycling Club took the long trip to Loughrea to compete in the Seven Springs Cycling Club day of racing.

It was a very successful day out for the club, with the U12 podium made up entirely of Kanturk riders with Quillian Donnelly in 1st place, Ewen McConville 2nd and Stephen Sheehan in 3rd place. Michael Nolan and Willem O'Connor also rode a great race. In the U14 race David Shine was 2nd with Luke Moynihan in 3rd place.

In the U16 race Tom Moriarty was 1st and Sean Barrett 3rd, while Denis Murphy had a great team race and Lucy O'Donnell rode a super race.  This week sees the junior riders of the club take part in the Junior Tour of Ireland. This huge event starts with a time trial in Ennis on Tuesday and continues with gruelling stages from Wednesday taking in the Burren, Corkscrew Hill, Cliffs of Moher, Gallows Hill and many more picturesque venues. It finishes on Sunday in Ennis. We wish all our competitors luck in this event.
