INTO slams schools' use of JobBridge

TEACHERS' Union the INTO has slammed attempts by two Cork schools to hire teachers via JobBridge.
Last week adverts for schoolteachers for Baltydaniel National School in Newtwopothouse and Kilbonane National School in Aherla appeared on the JobBridge website.
JobBridge positions are available to unemployed people who, if appointed to such a role, are given an extra €50 a week on top of their jobseekers benefit or allowance payment.
The teachers union and opposition politicians were critical of the ads, which were defended by local Minister Seán Sherlock.
The advert for the position in Baltydaniel National School has since been withdrawn.
