MULLED wine, minced pies and carols will be just some of the delights on offer at the turning on of the Coachford Christmas lights this Sunday at 6pm.
An outdoor Christmas Market is also being planned for the village to coincide with the turning on of the lights.
"This is the second year that a large Christmas tree will feature in the village and everyone is invited to the switching on of the lights and to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere," Coachford Tidy Towns chairperson Martha McCaffery said.
And with Aghabullogue vying for the Cork County Intermediate title on Sunday, Martha added: "We hope that an early Christmas gift of a county football trophy may also make an appearance!"
One VIP who is set to make an appearance is Santa Claus - at the Coachford Farmers Christmas market on the following Saturday, December 14.
The market is set to be a wonderful festive event with a huge amount of Christmas goodies on sale. A special grotto is being put in place so Santa Claus can meet all the nice children and find out what he should bring them for Christmas.
