THE Spirit of Christmas will be displayed by young local girls who travel to Belarus early in January to join with the children there in celebrating their Christmas, which falls on January 7 with New Year on January 11.

They are Sarah Linehan, Derrinatubrid, a social work student at UCC, and Marian Daly, Reandullane, a social carer in Mallow, they will spend one week helping those less fortunate.

Sarah was there in August and it was from that experience that the decision to travel at Christmas was born and her good friend, Marian volunteered to go along.

Knowing both of them they certainly will lift the spirits of these children.

To help fund the trip they have organized a Mr. & Mrs. Fundraiser at Billy Murphy's Bar this Saturday, December 22, and your support is appreciated, at 9pm.

Eight couples will face the desk from where Colm O'Connor and Patricia O'Keeffe will be popping the questions.

How much do you think you know about your partner?
