A FARMER who has been convicted of drink driving has had his disqualification postponed to allow him to finish his summer's work.
Timothy O'Riordan (61) of Shanballyshane, Kilnamartyra was charged with drink driving arising from an incident at Sleveen East on June 23 last.
The court heard that Mr O'Riordan failed a roadside breath test and a subsequent urine test showed he was more than twice the legal limit.
Mr O'Riordan had no previous convictions, the court heard. He was fined €150 and disqualified from driving for two years.
Gardai had no objection to postponing the disqualification until October to allow Mr O'Riordan drive his tractor for the summer.
