'Do not go to church if you are drunk'

A MAN was warned not to "attend any religious services while intoxicated" by Judge Brian Sheridan.

At Mallow court this week, Inspector Tony Sugrue said he had no objection to the current bail granted for David Mulcahy, who is facing charges of assault, being drunk in public and for engaging in threatening, abusive and or insulting language or behaviour at St Mary's Church, Mallow last Saturday week.

However, Insp Sugrue asked for a condition to be attached to the bail application by Mr Mulcahy of 6 Granary Court, St Joseph's Road, Mallow - that he doesn't attend any religious services while intoxicated.

Judge Sheridan said that Mr Mulcahy is to "remain of sober habits" and not to attend any religious services while intoxicated before he's again in court in two weeks.
