Concern over traffic at school

Speeding drivers and parking outside Kilmurry National School was discussed at the Blarney Macroom municipal district meeting.

Cllr Gobnait Moynihan (FF) said the school is worried about both issues.

James Dwyer, senior executive engineer said he had spoken with the principal before Christmas who outlined their concerns. He said the council will look at the road design and that hopefully it can be improved. He also said a light will be moved closer to the school.

Mr Dwyer also told councillors that Gardai have also been monitoring the speed of drivers in that region.
