A FLEET of expensive motors once owned by convicted Mallow drug dealer Donal Ryan is to go under the hammer after they were seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau.

The motors, including high-end BMW's, a €28,000 motorbike and a Nissan Skyline were confiscated by the CAB after a High Court judge ruled they bought with the proceeds of criminal activity.

Ryan is currently serving a six-year jail term after being caught red-handed with €100,000 worth of cannabis at Annakissa, Doneraile on St Valentine's Day 2013.

Other cars impounded belonging to Ryan included a €40,000 jeep, a Citroen C5 and a Ford Transit Van.

A source said Ryan as someone who used his criminal activities to fund the purchase of his prized motor collection.

"He was running a garage so he could launder his dirty money from drugs and used most of it to buy his cars. Ryan was fascinated with cars from a young age - and that's why he turned to crime so he could fund his expensive habit."
