Bridge work update

Maria Herlihy

Design works are currently being done on Inchigeela Bridge and that includes it being widened.

At the Blarney Macroom municipal district meeting, Cllr Michael Creed (FG) asked what was the most up to date report on the bridge.

He was told by senior executive engineer, James Dwyer that it will cost between €30,000 and €40,000 to remedy it and presently, the design was being done.  Cllr Creed asked about the possibility of the bridge being widened and was told by Mr Dwyer that while it would be widened, there was a limit on what they could actually do.

"Once the drawings are completed, I will bring the drawings to a meeting and show them to everyone where we can discuss them," said Mr Dwyer.
