GARDAI in Mallow have opened a book of condolence for their murdered colleague Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, who was killed during an armed robbery in Co Louth last Friday night.
Members of the public are invited to sign the book, which will be situated in the foyer of Mallow Garda Station, until next Tuesday.
A book of condolence has also been opened at Mallow Town Hall.
Mallow mayor Noel O'Connor said he will call for a suspension of standing orders at next Monday nights monthly meeting of Mallow Town Council in order to lead councillors in a minute's silence in Detective Garda Donohue's memory.
Cllr O'Connor will also propose that the council write to the Donohoe family expressing its profound sorrow at their loss.
