Banteer man charged after €280k cocaine find

A BANTEER MAN has been charged in connection with the seizure of €280,000 worth of cocaine at Kerry Airport on Monday.
William Lamb (68), with an address at Banteer, was charged at Tralee District Court on Wednesday afternoon with possession of drugs with intent for sale or supply under section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, and with importation of the drug at Kerry Airport, Farranfore on Monday last, January 14, under section 15 (b) of the same act.
No application for bail was made by Mr Lamb's solicitor, Dave Ramsey, and he was remanded in custody to Cork Prison. he is due to appear again before Tralee District Court next Wednesday.
A former British soldier, Mr Lamb, who is originally from Belfast, has lived in Banteer for a number of years.
