Tidy Towns litter pick
MALLOW Tidy Town volunteers did a litter pick from the Gilbert Centre to the Ironmines at 10.30am last Saturday morning.
The early group continued their great work with a litter pick of the side streets and lane ways off Main St at 8am. Power-washing of the wall along the Park Road has begun and a 200m section was done during the week.
The next big event on the horizon is the National Spring Clean, which runs for the month of April. Please get involved, either individually, as a group or as part of an organisation. You could do a clean up in your own area or by joining MTT at 10am on Saturday April 5 at any of the five designated meeting points around town, Bowling Green Car Park, Bus Stop on Park Road, Dogs' Heads, in the Spa, the Aldi area and Annabella Roundabout and its surrounds.
There is still time to apply to An Taisce for a clean up pack at www.nationalspringclean.org.
If there are any litter bad spots in the area that you know of please tell MTT as they will include it in their work plan. You can email at email@example.com or message them on Facebook.
This weekend the early group are out at 8am on Saturday morning starting at HQ in Hibernian Way and the 10.30am gang will meet at the Gilbert Centre site to plant the new rockery. New members are always welcome.
