St Mary's girls 'Speakout'

The Young Social Innovators from St. Mary's Secondary School

The Youth Social Innovators (YSI) from St. Mary's Secondary School travelled to Cork city last week to take part in the Speakout 2014 event, which was held at City Hall.

The Mallow girls' task was to perform on stage for two minutes, singing their anti-human trafficking song, 'You Can Stop The Trafficking'.

Teacher Donna Lyons and the girls are on-going in their protests in an effort to outlaw human trafficking worldwide. Recently the group held a hugely successful Colour Run in Mallow to highlight the trafficking and they have other events planned for the future.
