THE death of Denis Coughlan at Cork University Hospital on Sunday, March 10 was received by many people with great sadness.

Denis, who lived in New Twopothouse, came from a well admired Mallow family who came for Bridge Street.

Denis was a former haulage contractor and was also in the warehousing business. A renowned supporter of Cork GAA, Denis could be spotted at Cork matches throughout the country and at various levels. He was also a big quiz fan and played with the Bridge House in many quiz nights, which in those days were a direct question format.

Denis loved to travel and drove many roads and highways in the U.S. which he always described with great detail on his return home.

Denis is predeceased by his brother John and survivied by his wife Mary (nèe Buckley) daughter Emma, brothers Conor, Dan, Paddy, Aidan and James, sisters Mary, Ann and Bridie, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Requiem Mass was celebrated at 2pm on Wednesday, March 13 with funeral afterwards to the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy.

To Mary, Emma and the Coughlan family we extend our deepest sympathy.
