THE NEWMARKET CYMS hall which has undergone refurbishment will have its official opening next month.
New flooring has been put in place in the main hall and new bathrooms have also been built including a wheelchair access toilet as well as a new roof.
To mark the refurbishment the official opening will take place on Saturday, August 16 at 8.15pm.
A committee member of Newmarket CYMS hall said: "We have a lot of things planned as there will be dancing to live music by The Celts." In addition, little nippers will not be left out of the action, as the entertainment management company, 'Celebrate' will also set up in the hall where the theme will be 'Alice in Wonderland.' There will also be face painting and lots of entertainment.
IRD Duhallow part funded some of the work along with funding from Cork County Council as well as local fundraising. However, the front of the building is categorised as being listed so the bulk of all works took place indoors.
No doubt little nippers on Saturday as well as moms and dads will have their mobiles at the ready as rugby player, Tony Buckley, fondly known by all as 'Mushy' will perform the official opening.
Since the hall has undergone such a revamp, it has already attracted a host of new clubs and organisation and is ideal to hold parties.
The family evening has all the hall marks of being great fun and better still it's a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.
