CHARLEVILLE Chamber has been successful in securing an early morning train service from Charleville train station to Dublin leaving at 6.36am. The service will form part of the new Intercity & Commuter Train Timetable which was scheduled to come into operation on last Sunday, January 20.
The news was related to the Chamber by Mr. Andrew Roche, the Cork based Business Development Manager, Iaranrod Eireann, who said that he was delighted to advise the Chamber members that their request for an early morning train service from Charleville to Dublin (weekdays) has been granted.
The new service will depart Charleville at 06.36 hours and is scheduled to arrive into Dublin Heuston at 8.30am in perfect time for business in the capital.
The Chamber had been working closely with Mr. Roche and sought and received the co-operation of local business interests in pursuant of the objective of ensuring a weekday early morning train service to Dublin.
Chamber President Mr. P. J. McCarthy said he was delighted with the outcome of their discussions with Iarnrod Eireann and thanked Mr. Roche for his assistance and the Chamber members for their co-operation in securing the service for Charleville station. Mr. McCarthy urged travellers to use the service as much as possible to justify the new service.
