CLONDROHID National School reached the final of Sciath na Scoil this year. This was played in Páirc Uí Rinn on Monday last against near neighbours Rusheen.
The last time Clondrohid were in the final four years ago their opponents were also Rusheen, who they succeeded in defeating that time. Clondrohid put on a great performance and got an early lead by scoring two points, but Rusheen came back fighting hard and managed to score two goals. Clondrohid then fought back and managed to score a goal and another point before half time, which left the half time score 2-3 to 1-3 in favour of Rusheen.
In the second half Clondrohid fought hard to come back and great work by all the players brought Clondrohid to within one point , but unfortunately time ran out and victory went to Rusheen. Well done to all involved and to Jim Lucey and Stephen Quinn for all their hard work with the team. Final score: Rusheen 2-4, Clondrohid 1-6.
