NINETEEN participants in the recent Enniscorthy 10K Challenge recently handed over a cheque for €1,115 to the Talk to Tom charity.

Sarah Whelan said she and several friends decided to undertake the 10K event, and then other staff members at Oakfield Nursing Home at Ballinakill and Courtown, decided to get involved as well, and they decided to raise money for Talk to Tom, a suicide awareness and prevention charity in Gorey.

'We were delighted with how it went,' said Sarah. 'Some people never did 10K before, so everybody had their own goals. A lot of them ran more than they thought they were going to run.'

The group included 16 women and three men. Thanks were sent to all who sponsored their efforts. Several of the group are now going on to do Safe Talk training through Talk to Tom.
