Millstreet gets into festive spirit with host of events

A CHRISTMAS market returned again to the seasonally decorated Millstreet GAA Hall last weekend with a mixed array of original handmade gifts, artisan food and lots more on offer.
A tearoom allowed patrons relax with friends and family and soak up the festive spirit and the on-stage photographic studio pesented by Justin Black proved highly popular.
45 CARD DRIVE TO AID HOSPITAL
THE pre Christmas countdown is officially associated with the traditional shopping day of December 8, which makes it an appropriate date for the staging of the annual 45 Card Drive in aid of Millstreet District Hospital on this Saturday night commencing at 8.45pm sharp.
And maintaining a tradition on this date, the staging returns to the Green Glens Complex with support greatly appreciated for the attractive prizes on offer. Organisers welcome old and new friends to the card drive that support this most deserving of causues.
AUBANE MASS AND CHRISTMAS PARTY
THE Annual Mass and Christmas party for the Aubane community and surrounding area takes place in the Aubane Community Centre on Thurday, December 13 at 8pm . A great night of food and entertainment is promised.
Santa Claus visits Aubane Community Centre on Sunday, December 16 from 2 - 4.30 pm. Admission includes a present and parents are advised to bring a camera to capture that perfect moment with Santa.
There will be a bouncing castle, face painting plus much more to provide entertainment for the children.
NEW YEAR'S DAY SWIM
THE annual New Year's Day Swim at the Boeing on the river Blackwater returns on Tuesday, January 1. Proceeds go to the Millstreet Day Centre at the Canon O'Donovan Centre. LIGHTS COMMITTEE SAYS THANKS
THE Millstreet Christmas Light committee thank sincerely all those who supported their recent collection.
A total of €1,247.80 raised will go towards the running cost of the lights for the Christmas season.
CULLEN and District Special Needs Association will host their Christmas Mass and party in Cullen Community Centre on this Saturday, commencing at 1.30pm.
THE Annual Christmas morning climb takes place on Sunday, December 25 at 10.30am and the meeting place is the St John's Well Car park.
