MOURNEABBEY LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB AGM
The AGM for Mourneabbey Ladies Football Club was held on January 20 in Mourneabbey Community Centre. It opened with a welcome to all by Chairman Donal Fitzpatrick. A minutes silence was held for the deceased members.
Secretary Pat O'Connell read the minutes of 2011's A.G.M. and gave a detailed report on the performance of all teams in 2012 from under 8's up to Senior level.
Treasurer Mary Cronin gave a detailed account of the club's finances. Chairman, Donal Fitzpatrick, gave his address on the successes of the club in 2012 and also the areas for development for the coming year.
He commended the coaches, selectors and parents for their work throughout the year. He also thanked the club members who had helped with fundraising throughout the year.
He stressed that focusing on the positives were paramount to the success of the club, both at the field and at home. He also spoke about the introduction of a Junior C team in 2013 due to the success of the Gaelic4Mothers initiative in 2012.

County Board & North Cork Board Representatives: Don Forde, Dan Joe Browne & Micheal Twohig.

Clyda Rovers GAA Membership Fees are now due for 2013. The fees are as follows: Players (including injury fund) ; Adult €80, Third level student/unwaged €65; Second level student €35. Non players; Adult €40, OAP/Unwaged /Third level student €20, Second level studen €15. Payment can be made to any member of the Executive Committee.
Glenville U21 topurnament: Clyda 1- 08, NA Piarsaigh 0- 09. Clyda now meet Killnamatra in the Semi-Final in the pitch on Friday 25th January at 8pm.
Awards night: A very enjoyable night was had by all last Friday night in the Community centre . Presentations were made to the winning u21 hurlers and Minor hurlers and footballers by special guest, Evening Echo columnist John Arnold, who gave a very enjoyable factual and witty talk to all present.
The Clubman of The Year Award was presented to Tadgh O Connor for his achievements with the Minor Footballers and player of the Year Award was jointly won by Chris Kenny and Chris Buckley. A special presentation was made to Roisin, Ciara, and Doireann O Sullivan and Brid O Sullivan in recognition of the roles they played on the All Ireland winning Cork Football Team.
A cheque for €1,250 was presented to St Vincent De Paul, proceeds of the puc fada held on St Stephens Day. Catering on the night was done by Katrina O Callaghan and as always was most enjoyed!
NEW MACRA CLUB FOR GRENAGH/RATHDUFF/MOU RNEABBEY/BOTTLEHILL & SURROUNDING AREAS.
If you are aged 17-35 don't miss the first meeting of our new Macra club. The first meeting / information night will take place on Friday 25th January at 9pm in Grenagh Sports Complex.
Activities include bowling, singing, dancing, public speaking, paintballing, debating, drama, basketball, volleyball, Gaelic football, indoor soccer, nights in, nights out, weekends away or just meeting plenty of people and lots more so come along to hear more! You can get involved as much or as little as you like!
