Launch of 'Journeying Personal History and Works of Imagination'

THE Millstreet Community School based Living Scenes Intergenerational Group invite the public to the launch of a publication titled 'Journeying Personal History and Works of Imagination' in Millstreet Community Library on Monday, May 13, at 2pm.
Edited by John W. Sexton, the work is the latest in the series of presentations from the award winning Millstreet Living Scenes.
Living scenes is in its eighth year in Millstreet and to mark European year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, the EU-sponsored an award for schools running inter-generational initiatives where the Millstreet entry gathered runner up place.
The project is an educational initiative involving schools, teenagers and older adults, working together within a community learning environment. Its objectives are to discover common links between perceived diverse generations, foster and promote mutual respect
Monday's launch features an exhibition of ceramic pieces based on the theme. The launch is followed by light refreshments and admission is free.
Annmarie at Briery Gap
THE popular Annmarie O'Riordan performs on a return concert in the Briary Gap, Macroom, on Friday, May 17.
Annmarie's holds a dedicated following in addition to winning new friends. All her recordings have proved hugely successful, receiving regular airplay on local, national and international radio.

Cloughoula Pattern Day
THE annual Cloughoula Pattern Day returns on Sunday, May 19, with a full schedule underway at 1pm.
Hosted on the grounds of Cloughoula National School, an exciting programme promises to draw natives and friends to a picturesque setting.
The organisers are hoping the weatherman will oblige from a mixed bag of events to cater for all tastes with children sports, gaelic football, cake sale to a recital by Millstreet Pipe Band and a visit by a magican in addition to fringe events, all part and parcel of a hectic itinerary.
A coach travels to Knock on this Sunday for the Cloyne Diocesan Pilgrimage.
