Many years ago Tony O'Brien cut a single disc about Lourdes.
He himself was an MS patient since he was a young man and many will recall his recent death in his home parish of Kilworth, when thousands of friends came from far and near to pay their last respects to a great man who was a legend in his time and always a great inspiration to the rest of us of how to react no matter what the situation was.
A man with a tremendous faith in Our Lady of Lourdes, he never missed an opportunity to visit there.
After one such visit to the Shrine, he released his special disc entitled "The Village of Bernadette".
On Monday night last following a special Mass in St Patrick's Church to launch this year's Cloyne Diocesan Invalid Pilgrimage to Lourdes, at which the New Bishop of Cloyne Rev William Crean presided, the function extended to the Corrin Event Centre where, amid some light refreshments, the late Tony's Village of St Bernadette was relaunched with the proceeds from Tony's efforts again to be distributed between the two groups most dear to him in life which were The Cloyne Lourdes Invalid Fund and the Fermoy MS group. His friends did not and will not desert him. Copies can be had from the members of the above groups.
