The next Killavullen market will be held on this Saturday, Mar. 2nd. It will run from 10.30am-1pm and every second Saturday thereafter.
The market is an important and vibrant part of our community. It provides local food and produce such as fresh vegetables in season, cheese, preserves, baking, honey, plants, organic dried food, knitting and second-hand books.
The market hosts lovely events during the year such as arts and harvest festivals, pumpkin and vegetable competitions. Come to the market and enjoy a fairtrade cuppa with us, its local, its fun and its good for the planet. Road works are still in place on the N72. Follow the signs to The Nano Nagle Centre.
Annual Youth Concert
The Rafferty School of Speech and Drama will hold their annual concert at The Community Centre, Castletownroche on this Friday, Mar. 1st at 8pm. All welcome.
The school is presently enrolling junior pupils for the beginning of school year 2013 in September. Enrollment forms may be obtained at the school between 9.30am-3pm. It is hoped that the building works will be well completed for the new school year in time for the new pupils and will include a special needs room and library/computer room, a new entrance with secretary's office as well as a storage room.
The Cork County Council's mobile van will visit Killavullen Village on Friday morning at 10.30am.
The monthly Mass and Prayer Meeting in honour of Our Lady, Queen of Peace will be held at The Nano Nagle Centre, Ballygriffin, Killavullen on Monday next at 8pm. Everyone welcome.
For the second week in succession Brid Cronin, Powerstown was the winner of the prize in The Haven Bar's weekly draw in aid of the refurbishment of our Community Centre. The Community Council members thank The Haven Bar for organising the draw and all who support it.
The Cork Mental Health Foundation wishes to thank all who supported their plea for funds in Annakissa and Killavullen on 16th and 17th Feb. A sum of €522.60 was contributed which is very much appreciated and they especially thank those who took up the collection.
Friends of Nano Nagle Movement
This is a worldwide community of lay women and men who are committed to " act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God"(Micah 6:8). The movement shares a common vision and charism with The Presentation Congregation and aims to collaborate with it in finding ways to further its mission.Their local groups across the world work in partnerrship with the congregation in a relationship of equality, partnership and in Nano's home parish they hope to continue her great work through learning more about her charism and misssion.

to Catherine Canavan, Nano Nagle Place on winning the "jack-pot" of €1,500 in their weekly lottery on Tuesday night when the draw took place in The Haven Bar. The numbers drawn were 15, 19 & 21. The winning ticket was sold by Mary Lenihan. The winners of the "lucky-dip" prizes were Pat Sheehan, Carrigacunna, seller Garrys Bar, Joseph Taylor, a promoter and Jimmy Shanahan, CTR, seller J.
