Roadworks are still in place but the N72 is open from Mallow to The Centre and you can follow the detour signs from the other directions.

Raft Run

We hope for an improvement to weather condititions on next Sunday so everyone will be able to come out and enjoy the excitement of the annual fun raft run from Mallow to Killavullen on The Blackwater.

Over 80 rafts have entered and they will leave Mallow at 1pm, and there is sure to be a large crowd here to greet them on arrival. This is an important fund-raising event for The Mallow Search and Rescue Unit, a voluntary group who provide a vital service on our river and indeed further afield to help in sad and distressing circumstances.

Well done to those proposing to take part and we encourage all to be generous in sponsoring them. The Group rely on this fund-raising for equipment, training of personnel and the upkeep of their launch centre at Broom Lane. A video of the event will be shown at a social night in The Arches Bar on the night.

Reminder that as the time changes on Saturday night the first Mass in Killavullen on Sunday mornings will be at 8.30am until October.
