James presents hospital with fruits of ultra challenge

WHEN James Winters decided to once again take to the roads to raise funds for Kanturk Community Hospital he looked around for a challenge and set his sights on The Dingle Ultra Marathon. As the name suggests, this was an ultra test in which James he had to run almost two marathons on the day along a route that included the Conor Pass, which is the highest mountain road in Ireland.

While James was pounding out the miles in training, his family were busy raising sponsorship for his efforts. Every little bit helped and in these trying times they raised the magnificent sum of €3,800.

On Saturday last James, in the company of his family, he presented the cheque for €3,800 to Kanturk Community Hospital Matron Margaret Fitzgerald.

A proud man at the presentation was James's dad Eugene, who is a long time patient at Kanturk hospital.
