History of local GAA club to be captured on DVD

We send best wishes this week to Killavullen GAA Club who will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding of the club. To mark this a DVD showing the history of the club from 15/2/1888 is at present being recorded and will be available in the near future.

We send best wishes this week to Killavullen GAA Club who will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding of the club. To mark this a DVD showing the history of the club from 15/2/1888 is at present being recorded and will be available in the near future.

The playing season for this year for the club opens this weekend. Killavullen play Cobh on Saturday in the Avondhu/Imokilly JAFL at 7pm in Cobh.

On February 5 the draw in their weekly local lottery took place in Magners Bar and the numbers drawn were 20, 25 & 30. The jackpot of €1,300 was not won and the winners of the "lucky-dip" prizes were Brendan Luddy, c/o seller Tom Luddy, Tom Barry, Ballyduff, seller J. Angland and Lucy Byrne, c/o seller Garry's Bar.

The Club members wish to send sincere sympathy to the family of Seamus Coughlan, co-ordinator of Cork County Board's Cork GAA Clubs' Draw. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Farmers' Market

The Killavullen farmers will hold their fortnightly market on Saturday at The Nano Nagle Centre, Ballygriffin, Killavullen from 10.30am-1pm. The main road direct from Mallow to The Centre is open and for those travelling from Fermoy, Castletownroche, Mitchelstown or Killavullen etc, there are plenty road signs to guide them there.

The market is held under cover and there is plenty free parking so come along and pick up the best of local produce such has fresh vegetables in season, cheese, eggs, preserves, honey, baking, organic dried foods, plants, knitting etc in a friendly atmosphere and perhaps enjoy a cup of fair trade tea or coffee or pick up a book from the secondhand charity book stall.

Cork Mental Health Foundation

This charitable organisation which does such great work appeals for your help for their annual collection after all the Masses in Killavullen and Annakissa Churches this weekend.

The Cork County Council's mobile van will visit Killavullen Village on Friday at 10.30am.
